    How do I get the Want Button to work?

    The "Want Button" allows you to add any product or service to your Wantster profile from any website you visit. Below you will find instructions on how to add the Wantster "Want Button" to any web browser of your choice.

    Google Chrome

    1. Make sure your "Bookmarks Bar" is visible. If it is not visible, click on "Bookmarks > Show bookmarks bar" from the Google Chrome main customize and control menu.

    2. Drag the "Wantster "Want Button" to your "Bookmarks Bar".

    Firefox

    1. Make sure your "Bookmarks Toolbar" is visible. If it is not visible, click on "View > Toolbars" and make sure “Bookmarks Toolbar” is checked.

    2. Drag the Wantster "Want Button" to your "Bookmarks Toolbar".

    Internet Explorer (Version 7+)

    1. Make sure your "Favorites Bar" is visible. If it is not visible, click on "View > Toolbars” and make sure “Favorites Bar” is checked.

    2. Right click the Wantster "Want Button" link and click "Add to Favorites". Select "Favorites Bar" or “Links” from the "Create in" dropdown.

    Safari

    1. Make sure your "Bookmarks Bar" is visible. If it is not visible, click on “Show Bookmarks Bar" from the Safari menu of general settings.

    2. Drag the Wantster "Want Button" to your "Bookmarks Bar".

    How do I create a new lists?

    First, visit “My Lists” located on the top menu bar. When looking at your lists you will see “Create New List” on the top right hand side. Or, when posting a want you can select “--New List--” from the List drop down.

    How do I edit a list name?

    First, visit “My Lists” located on the top menu bar. When you see your lists you can click “edit”, which appears when you hover your mouse on the bottom right side of the list in question.

    How do I change the order of my lists?

    When looking at your lists, hover your mouse on the bottom right side of the list in question. “edit” and an up and down arrow will appear. Click and hold down the arrows and drag your list to your desired location.

    How many lists can I create?

    You can import and save as many wants as you like and categories them in as many lists as you wish.

    How do I delete my Wants?

    From “My Lists” click on the picture of the Want in question. You will now see all your Wants from this list displayed. Each Want will have an “Edit” option. Click “Edit” and you will have the option to “Delete Want”.

    How do I invite family and friends to follow me on Wantster?

    Click your small avatar on the top right hand side of the screen. Select “find Friends”. You will have 5 options on how to invite people. You can invite people from Facebook, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and Email.

    How do you send my wants to family and friends?

    Click on the Want in question until it is the only Want on the screen. Click the “share” link. You will be promoted to entre in a recipients email address and a comment.

    How do you send one of my lists to family and friends?

    Looking at “My Lists” click on the list in question. Under the name of this list you will see “print” and “share”. When you click on “share” you will be promoted to entre in a recipients email address and comment. If you click “print” you will have the option to print your List to give to whomever you choose.

    How do you move a Want you already have to another list?

    From “My Lists” click on the picture of the Want in question. You will now see all your Wants from this list displayed. Each Want will have an “Edit” option. Click “Edit” and you will have the option to file this Want to another list that you have created.

    How do I make sure people do not buy the same gift I want to buy for someone?

    When looking at another person’s profile, select the list in which the Want in question is located. You will have an option to click “I got this for {Dave}”. Dave does not see this field, only Dave’s followers do. So, everyone will be in the loop as to what was purchased for Dave except for Dave!

    How do I edit or add a picture to a Want?

    From “My Lists” click on the Want in question. You will now see all your Wants from this list displayed. Each Want will have an “Edit” option. Click “Edit” and click on the image square. You will be promoted to upload a new picture.

    How do I change the settings of my profile like my picture and email address?

    From “My Lists” click “edit” located by your name.

    I tried to download pictures to use as a Want, but it did not work.

    Your image might be too big. Try choosing a different picture, or use the one Wantster automatically prompts for you.

    How do I put a special date in my calendar for all my followers to see?

    From “My Lists” click on the ‘My Dates” tab and a calendar will appear. Click on “Add new Event”

    *Note: This calendar is reserved for your special dates only, not your family's or friend's special dates. When you friend someone, their own special dates will populate your calendar and vice-versa. There is no need to add your birthday, it's already there!

    How do I add the Price to a Want?

    In the description area of a Want simply put a $ or £ symbol in front of the number representing the price of your Want.

    How do you use the Wantster business “Want Button”?

    Think of Wantster as your website’s universal wishlist. The “Want Button” makes it easy for individuals to want your product or service in an online social environment that is shared with family and friends.

    Start using the business "Want Button" on your website now to start getting referrals, drive traffic and make sales.

    Place the "Want Button" next to every product or service on your website so people can easily click and post them as a want in Wantster. Items posted on Wantster will be seen and discussed by thousands and drive traffic to your website.

    Let’s use the example of a random business like Ed’s Music Store.

    Ed’s Music Store posted the “Want Button” next to all the items they sell on their website. Bill was surfing the web and ended up on Ed’s Music Store website. Bill wanted the Yamaha guitar posted on the site and clicked on the “Want Button” beside it. That guitar automatically populated into Bill’s profile on Wantster. That guitar will now be talked about by Bill’s friends and family and anyone wanting to buy it for Bill will know exactly where to get it... Ed’s Music Store.

    What is “Add Family Member”.

    Creating an additional profile does not require a separate email or password. Let’s use the example of Jane Smith and her 2 year old son Dustin Smith. Jane can create a profile for Dustin for her friends and family to see in preparation for the next gift giving occasion. Dustin is too young to administer a profile for himself, but with the help of Mom, friends and family can simply search out “Dustin Smith” on Wantster and see Dustin’s distinct own profile with all the things he wants. You can administer as many additional profiles as you wish. Why not create a profile for your pet...Murphy. Pets have birthdays and anniversaries too!

    What is “My Dates”

    The My Dates calendar allows you to enter all your special events. When you enter in one of your own special events, your followers are reminded of it one week prior to it happening with Wantster’s special event notifications. Consequently, you will receive one weekly reminder every week of all the special events happening among the people you follow. Never forget a friend’s or family’s important date again! The calendar is also a place where you can see all the special events of all the people you follow at a glance. When you start following someone, their own special events will populate your calendar and vice-versa. There is no need to add your birthday, it’s already there!

    What are “Polls”

    Creating a Poll is a way to get feedback from all the people who follow you. Not sure what to get your fiancé for their birthday? Create a Poll! Once a Poll is created, all your followers are sent a notification to come to your profile and vote.

    What is an “iKickin:

    Creating an iKickin allows you to organize a group gift for someone. For example, let’s use Jane’s wedding shower as the gift giving occasion and her friend Laura. Laura can use Wantster’s iKickin to organize the purchase of the washer and dryer set Jane wants as a gift. Laura chooses the price each participant is to contribute and can choose to invite from all of her own and Jane’s followers. When you are invited to participate in an iKickin, Wantster will guide you through the simple process of accepting the invitation and contributing your funds through PayPal. Therefore, each participant is separately invoiced and credited for the purchase of the gift. Once all funds are collected, Laura can buy the washer and dryer Jane wanted for her wedding anniversary and give it on behalf of all her friends.

    Why the red ribbon on Wants

    Seeing a red ribbon on a Want in someone’s profile indicates that they have not received that Want as a gift yet.

    What does “Purchased by....” / “I got this for...” mean and what do I do with it.

    When you buy a Want off of someone’s Wantster profile, proper etiquette is to click “I got this for...” located under the picture of the Want. You will then see Purchased by...” indicating that the item has already been purchased. ***The person you are buying for does not see this field. They are kept in the dark as to what items have been purchased or not. Only other logged in users can see this information.
